Top overhaul is a maintenance process carried out on the top of an internal combustion engine, such as a car or motorbike engine. Top overhaul does not involve the entire engine, but focuses on the components located at the top of the engine block. Some common work performed during a top overhaul involves repairing or replacing the following components:
Cylinder Head: Checking and repairing or replacing parts such as valves, valves and repairs to the cylinder head.
Gaskets: Inspection and replacement of gaskets, including cylinder head gaskets.
Piston and Rings: Check and replace pistons and piston rings if necessary.
Timing Belt/Chain: Check and replace the timing belt or distribution chain, if the engine uses one.
Camshaft: Inspection and repair or replacement of camshaft if necessary.
