BUOYANT SMOKE SIGNAL is part of the ship's safety equipment that must be provided by every ship. This tool is a signaling tool which, when activated, can be seen from a distance of about 4 km during the day horizontally at sea and about 10 km during the day seen from the air. This tool is used as a marker for the location of parties who need help and can be used on land or at sea, either during the day or at night. As the name implies (Buoyant Smoke Signal) this can float on the sea and remains lit (not extinguished) even when exposed to sea waves. This tool when activated will emit thick and thick smoke with orange or yellow color.
